Question : INSPECTION OF MINING AREAS



(a) whether the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) has carried out any inspection for promotion of conservation and scientific development of mineral resources and ensuring protection of environment in mining areas in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise;

(c) the details of various inspections carried out by IBM during the last three years and the current year;

(d) whether online registration of leases and reporting system has been operating in IBM; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the extent to which online registration and reporting system has achieved its objective?

(a) Yes Madam, Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) carries out periodical inspections of mines to monitor Conservation of Mineral, systematic and scientific mining and protection of environment in the lease hold area of the country under Mineral Conservation and Development Rules (MCDR) 1988.

(b) The State-wise details thereof is at Annexure-I.

(c) The details of inspection undertaken during last three years and current year along with action taken thereof is at Annexure-II.

(d) Yes Madam.

(e) The details and status of on-line registration of leases is at Annexure-III and of online reporting systems is at Annexure-IV.
