(a) the details of existing Food Processing Units (FPUs) in different parts of the country
including Uttar Pradesh, State-wise;
(b) whether the Government proposes to set up more FPUs in the country; and
(c) if so, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a): As per the latest Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) 2018-19, total number of food processing units in Uttar Pradesh were 2105 in the registered sector. In addition, as per the 73rd round of National Sample Survey (NSS) 2015-16, 3,50,883 number of enterprises were in the unincorporated/unregistered food processing sector. The State-wise details of registered and unincorporated food processing units are attached at Annex.
(b) & (c): Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is implementing a demand driven scheme- PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA (PMKSY) for overall growth and development of food processing sector in the country including the State of Uttar Pradesh. Under PMKSY, financial assistance is provided to the eligible selected applicants. No State-wise target is fixed under the scheme.
The Ministry is also implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, namely, Prime Minister’s Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme with One District One Product (ODOP) approach. In Uttar Pradesh, 75 districts have been identified with ODOP.
