Question : DEVELOPMENT OF SARANG GARH AS TOURIST PLACE

(a) whether the Government have received any proposal from the State Government of Madhya Pradesh to convert the Sarang Garh as tourist centre;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the reaction of the Government thereon?

(a), (b) and (c): The development of tourist places is primarily undertaken by the State Governments/Union Territories. However, Ministry of Tourism provides Central financial assistance for Tourism Projects which are prioritised in consultation with the State/UT Governments every year. No proposal to convert the Sarang Garh as tourist centre has been received for prioritisation from the State Government of Madhya Pradesh.
