(b) the time by which the said recommendation are likely to be implemented by the Government?

(a): The Law Commission in its 257th Report on May, 2015, titled “Reforms in Guardianship and Custody Laws in India” had recommended for amendments in the Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 and the Hindu Minority and Guardianship Act, 1956. The details of the recommendation are available on the website of the Law Commission http://www.lawcommissionofindia.nic.in.



(b): Since the subject matter of the said Report falls under List-III Concurrent List of the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution, comments/views of the State Governments and Union territory Administrations are being solicited. Hence, no time frame can be fixed to implement the said recommendations.
