Question : Corruption in Coconut Development Board

(a) whether the Government has taken note of the serious allegations of corruption in Coconut Development Board (CDB) by its former Chairman;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto;

(c) whether there is any enquiry by any agency into the irregularities in CDB, if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government has removed the former CDB Chairman before the completion of his deputation period;

(e) if so, the reasons for the same;

(f) whether there was any case pending against the former CDB Chairman, if so, the details thereof; and

(g) whether the Government had conducted any enquiry about the former Chairman prior to his appointment as CDB Chairman, if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e): The former Chairman, Coconut Development Board (CDB) was prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre due to lack of devotion to duty, misconduct and various irregularities committed by him.
The matter is being dealt with as per the extant guidelines for the purpose.
