(a) the number of youths of backward classes/extremely backward classes benefited under the skill development scheme across the country during the last three years;
(b) the details thereof along with the number of youths of backward classes/ extremely backward classes benefited under this scheme particularly in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh;
(c) the total number of skill development centres opened so far in Uttar Pradesh; and
(d) the details thereof, district-wise?
(a) Under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE’s) flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 2.0) 2016-20 as on 17th January, 2020, more than 73 lakh candidates have been trained across the country out of which more than 21 lakh candidates belong to OBC category. Year wise details of number of OBC candidates trained/oriented, certified and placed under PMKVY are at Annexure-I.
Further, in long term training imparted through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), there is a provision for reservation of seats for training of candidates belonging to OBCs. During last three years (2017-19), a total of 18,22,787 OBC candidates have been imparted training through ITIs in various trades across the country.
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment through National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) also facilitates skill development training to its target group including OBCs. Year-wise details of OBC candidates trained by Ministry of Social Justice are placed at Annexure-II.
(b) Under PMKVY (2016-2020), as on 17th January, 2020, a total of 2848 OBC candidates have been trained in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. Year wise details of number of OBC candidates trained/oriented, certified and placed under PMKVY in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh are at Annexure-III.
During last three years (2017-19), a total of 2610 OBC candidates have been imparted training through ITIs in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh.
(c) & (d) Under PMKVY as on 17th January 2020, 1721 training centres were imparting training in the State of Uttar Pradesh. There are 3229 ITIs in the State of Uttar Pradesh. The district wise details of training centres and ITIs are at Annexure-IV.
