(a) whether the Government has launched a scheme `Assistance
for Capacity Building` for upgradation and strengthening of
emergency facilities in selected State Government Hospitals;
(b) if so, the details thereof including the hospitals identified for the purpose;
(c) the financial assistance provided to the State Governments
for this purpose and the amount spent therefrom, Statewise;and
(d) the period for which the scheme is likely to continue?

(a) to (d) During the 11th Five Year Plan, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched
a revised scheme namely `Assistance for Capacity Building` for up gradation and strengthening
of emergency trauma care centres in State Government hospitals/institutions located along the
Golden Quadrilateral, North-South and East-West`corridors of the National Highways at a total
outlay of Rs.732.75 crores.
The hospitals/institutions identified so far and sanctioned/released funds during the 11th Plan
period are annexed.
