Question : STRENGTHENING OF EMERGENCY FACILITIES



(a) whether the Government has launched a scheme `Assistance for Capacity Building` for upgradation and strengthening of emergency facilities in selected State Government Hospitals;

(b) if so, the details thereof including the hospitals identified for the purpose;

(c) the financial assistance provided to the State Governments for this purpose and the amount spent therefrom, Statewise;and

(d) the period for which the scheme is likely to continue?

MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRI GHULAM NABI AZAD)

(a) to (d) During the 11th Five Year Plan, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched a revised scheme namely `Assistance for Capacity Building` for up gradation and strengthening of emergency trauma care centres in State Government hospitals/institutions located along the Golden Quadrilateral, North-South and East-West`corridors of the National Highways at a total outlay of Rs.732.75 crores.

The hospitals/institutions identified so far and sanctioned/released funds during the 11th Plan period are annexed.
