THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
[GEN. (DR) V. K. SINGH (RETD)]

(a) & (b) Aligning our external outreach with our developmental priorities has been a major focus of Indian diplomacy in recent years. The objectives of attracting foreign investments, including for infrastructure development, and infusion of technology and best practices from wherever they are available for advancing India’s flagship development programmes such as Make in India, Skill India, Digital India, Smart Cities, Swachh Bharat, Namami Gange, AMRUT have been at the forefront of high-level exchanges, including at the level of Prime Minister. A number of new partnerships and investment commitments in this regard have been secured through such efforts, which are at different stages of execution and implementation. It has also led to rise in business confidence in India, reflected also in higher levels of FDI inflows in the last two and a half years.
