Question : NHS IN WEST BENGAL



(a) the total length and number of National Highways (NHs) in West Bengal;

(b) the funds allocated/sanctioned to West Bengal for the maintenance of NHs during the last three years;

(c) whether National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has agreed to reimburse the expenditure incurred by the State Government for maintenance of roads; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) There are 27 Nos of National Highways with aggregate length of 2910 km in the state of West Bengal.

(b) Details of funds allotted for maintenance of National Highways (NHs) in West Bengal are as under

 (c) & (d) No, Madam. NHAI has not received any such proposal for reimbursement. However expenditure incurred by State Government without sanction of competent authority is not reimbursable.
