(a) whether it is true that the NAFED is to procure 7 lakh tonne of pulses for buffer stock and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) whether the NAFED had maintained pulses and other products as per the directives of the Government and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) : Yes, Madam. The tentative target fixed for procurement by NAFED is 7 lakh tonnes viz. 3.5 lakh tonnes each of Kharif and Rabi pulses for the buffer stock.
The procurement of pulses for the buffer, the Quality specification are as per the norms specified by the Government. As for the storage of pulses, the procuring agencies including NAFED are largely storing the pulses in godowns of CWC and SWC.
