(a),(b)&(c): Returns of income are processed by the Officers of the Income Tax Department. However, the Chief Commissioners of Income Tax have been authorized to outsource data entry of returns of income wherever it is not possible to complete processing of returns within four months of filing, subject to ensuring security and privacy of the data.
