(a) whether the Government has introduced `National Programme for Rehabilitation of Polluted Sites` (NPRPS) scheme;
(b) if so, the details and the objective of the scheme along with the present status of implementation of the scheme; and
(c) the details of funds sanctioned, released for the purpose so far?

(a) to (c): Ministry of Environment and Forests has initiated a project on “Capacity Building for Industrial Pollution Management†with the World Bank assistance. One of the objectives of project is the development of a framework for establishment of a National Programme for Rehabilitation of Polluted Sites (NPRPS).
