Question : Civil Aviation Policy

a) whether the Government has firmed up its New Civil Aviation Policy, the revised draft of which was circulated recently, if so, the details thereof;

b) the consensus of views of the North Eastern States in regard to the draft policy;

c) whether the Government has any plan/proposal for skill-building programme in the North Eastern region which is tertiary to the policy framework being planned for the civil aviation sector, if so, the details
thereof,

d) whether any assessment has been done in this regard; and

e) if so, the details and the outcome thereof?

a) The Government has completed the process of consultation with all the stakeholders for finalising the draft Civil Aviation Policy.

b) Response has been received only from Govt. of Assam and North-East Council, which has been considered while finalising the Policy recommendations.

c) to (e) Ministry of Civil Aviation has hired an agency to conduct a comprehensive skill gap analysis for the Civil Aviation Sector in India, including North Eastern Region.
