Question : Vacancies in Kendriya Vidyalayas

(a) whether the Government is concerned about the huge number of vacant positions of teaching and non-teaching posts in Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country, especially in Tamil Nadu;

(b) if so, the total number of vacancies in Tamil Nadu and total number of temporary teachers appointed to manage such huge vacancies, State-wise;

(c) whether the Government is also contemplating any plan of action to fill up all these posts within a time period; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b) As on 30.06.2022, there are 12044 teaching posts and 1332 non-teaching posts lying vacant in Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country including in the State of Tamil Nadu. State/UT-wise details of total number of vacancies of teaching and Non-teaching posts and contractual teachers engaged on temporary basis against the sanctioned vacant posts are annexed.

(c) & (d) The vacancies arise due to transfer, retirement etc. from time to time. Filling up of vacancies is a continuous process and efforts are made to fill up the vacancies as per the provisions of the relevant recruitment rules. Teachers are also engaged on contractual basis for temporary duration by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan to ensure that the teaching-learning process is not hampered.
