Question : Upgraded Weapons for Security Forces

(a) whether the personnel of internal security forces in the country possess the latest upgraded weapons, arms and ammunition as on date and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether there is time to time upgradation and quality assessment of weapons possessed by major internal security forces in the country like Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Railway Police Force, etc. and if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the details of all the latest weapons, arms and ammunition imported/ manufactured in India during the last five years for internal security forces in the country?

(a) to (c): Yes, Sir. The security forces are provided with latest and state of the art weapons, arms and ammunition etc. as per needs assessment and requirements, including by imports when necessary. Upgradation and quality assessment of weaponry possessed by security forces in the country is a continuous process. During the last 5 years, security forces have been provided with latest weapons, arms and ammunition, as per requirements.
