(a) whether the All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE) has received requests/applications from the private
institutions for establishment of new engineering colleges
and technical institutes in the State of Orissa during the last three years;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the names of such applicants who have fulfilled the norms of AICTE?

(a) & (b) : Yes, Sir. The All India Council for
Technical Education (AICTE) has received 53 applications
in 2008, 91 applications in 2009 and 41 applications in
2010 from the private institutions for establishment of
new engineering colleges and technical institutes in the State of Orissa.
(c) : The Council has issued Letter of Approval (LOA)
to such applicants who fulfilled the norms and standards
prescribed by AICTE for establishment of new technical
institutions during the last three years. A list of such applicants is at annexure.
