(a) the area of land under cultivation of wheat, pulses, rice and oil seeds in the country at present, State-wise;
(b) the area out of this land brought under cultivation during 1999;
(c) whether there was abnormal increase in the areas of wheat and rice cultivation in some States; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) The State-wise and All-India normal area under cultivation and that expected to be covered under wheat, pulses, rice and oilseeds during 1999-2000 is given in the Annexure.
(c) & (d) It can be seen from the annexure that there has been some increase in the area under Rice and Wheat at all India level and also in certain states during 1999-2000 compared to the Normal area.
