(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. The Honâble Supreme Court of India, vide order dated
30.10.2002 in I.A. No. 670 of 2001, directed that mining by Kudremukh Iron Ore
Company Limited (KIOCL) should be allowed till the end of 2005. The said I.A. was
filed by Shri K.M. Chinnappa on account of environmental concerns, seeking directions
from the Honâble Court, inter-alia, for stopping of the mining activities by KIOCL.
