Question : CONSTRUCTION OF TERMINAL AT ARYANKAVU RAILWAY STATION



(a) whether construction of terminal at Aryankavu railway station Madurai Division has been completed;

(b) if so, the total expenditure incurred thereon;

(c) if not the reasons of delay; and

(d) the facilities are being provided for the passengers at Aryankavu railway station?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI DIGVIJAY SINGH)

(a): The replacement of tiled roofing with RCC roofing of Aryankavu Station building on Sengottai-Quilon metre gauge line has been completed.

(b): About Rs.4 lakhs has been spent so far.

(c): Does not arise.

(d): This is an `E` class station. Waiting hall of 39 sq. metre, platform shelter of 208 sq. metre, 2 water taps, 4 toilets and 58 seats are available and are considered adequate for the present level of passenger traffic.
