Question : CCTNS Project

(a) whether it is a fact that the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project is running behind the schedule as per the target;

(b) if so, the details and the reasons therefor, State-wise including Chandigarh and Punjab;

(c) Whether the Government has any proposal to review the working of CCTNS and if so, the details thereof along with the steps taken to monitor the functioning of the CCTNS project;

(d) the total funds granted and utilised for implementation of CCTNS in the country, State-wise; and

(e) the effective steps taken by the Government for speedy implementation of the said project in the country?

(a) & (e): The Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) Project was originally scheduled to be implemented by

LS USQ No. 2714 for 02.08.2016
March 2015. With a view to achieve the larger objectives, Government has extended implementation of the project up to 31st March 2017. The project implementation is in-progress in 34 States/UTs including Punjab and Chandigarh. There is suboptimal progress in the States of Bihar and Rajasthan due to delay intheir engaging system integrators. Project implementation is being regularly monitored in co-ordination with States/UTs, system integrators and other implementing partners to meet the implementation targets. State/UT-wise release of funds and their utilization are in Annexure –I.
