(a) the details of the growth registered in air traffic in the country during the last three years and the current year;

(b) whether the growth in air traffic is very low in comparison to other countries; and

(c) if so, the details thereof along with steps taken or being taken by the Government to meet the growing demand of air traffic?

(a) The details of the growth registered in air traffic in the country during the last five years and the current year are enclosed herewith as Annex-I.

(b) No, Madam. India has registered fourth fastest growth in air traffic after Japan, Brazil and China.

(c) To meet the growing demand of air traffic as a continuous process, capacity additions are being done on the regular basis both at Airport Authority of India (AAI) airports, JV and private airports.
