Question : Development of Varahashyam Temple

(a) whether the Government has received a proposal from Rajasthan Government regarding maintenance and development of Varahshyam Temple, the temple being more than 600 years old and one of the few most ancient temples of India, situated at Bhinmal in Jalore district and the temple situated in Madha Lok Sabha Constituency under the Heritage Project (for Ancient Monuments which has been in existence for not less than 100 years);

(b) if so, the action taken for the development of these heritage sites; and

(c) if not, whether the Government has formulated any scheme for beautification and development of these temples on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) Archaeological Survey of India, an attached office of Ministry of Culture is mandated with the responsibilities of maintenance, conservation and preservation of centrally protected monuments and archaeological sites. ASI also carries out conservation of unprotected monuments in different States/UTs. No proposal regarding maintenance and development of Varahashyam Temple, situated at Bhinmal in Jalore district and the temple situated in Madha Lok Sabha Constituency Rajasthan has been received.
