Question : Norms for CSR

(a) whether the corporate firms in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have followed the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) norms as per the Companies Act, 2013 and if so, the details in this regard;
(b) the list of all those corporate houses/firms/companies in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh which are bound to follow CSR rules; and
(c) the details of the activities undertaken by the corporate firms in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh with the funds to be spent under CSR?

(a) to (c): Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 (Act) mandates every company having net worth of Rs. 500 crore or more, or turnover of Rs. 1000 crore or more, or net profit of Rs. 5 crore or more during the immediately preceding financial year, to spend at least two per cent of the average net profits of the company made during the three immediately preceding financial years, towards Corporate Social Responsibility in any of the eligible activities enumerated in Schedule VII of the Act. The details of companies in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh that come under the purview of CSR is not maintained separately by the Ministry. All data reported by companies on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is available on National CSR Portal at www.csr.gov.in.
