Question : Badalkhol Wildlife Sanctuary

(a) whether there is adequate arrangements of drinking water for wild animals in Badalkhol wildlife sanctuary of Jashpur, Chhattisgarh;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government proposes to construct a dam on the river that passes through the said sanctuary for the purpose of arranging drinking water for such animals; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a)and (b) As informed by the Government of Chhattisgarh, the Badalkhol Wildlife Sanctuary has perennial streams like Lumbalata, Dodaki, Dega-degi, Saraidaah, Betaranaala, Jorajam, Jonkpani, Bhawarkachhar, etc. On these, Stop dams, Anicut and Earthern dams have been constructed.

(c) and(d) The State Government of Chhattisgarh has informed that there is no such proposal for construction of dam on river passing through the Badalkhol Sanctuary for the purpose of arranging water for wild animals.
