Question : Irregularities by GSPC

(a) whether the Government has taken note of reported mismanagement by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) in exploration activities at Krishna Godavari (KG) basin;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the action taken thereon; and
(c) the present status of exploration at KG basin?

(a) & (b) Government of India has signed Production Sharing Contracts with GSPC for the blocks KG-OSN-2001/3 and KG-ONN-2004/2 located in Krishna Godavari (KG) basin. Government of India has been performing its role as envisaged in the contract.
(c) Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) is the operator of two exploration blocks KG-OSN-2001/3 and KG-ONN-2004/2 in Krishna – Godavari Basin. At present Exploration block KG-OSN-2001/3 is operational and block KG-ONN-2004/2 has been proposed for relinquishment by GSPC. GSPC has completed exploration and appraisal activities for the block KG-OSN-2001/3. GSPC has made 9 discoveries (Gas) in this block during exploration phase. Field Development Plan (Deendayal West) of three discoveries has been approved by the Management Committee. Activities envisaged in FDP are under progress. Test production of gas has started from three wells.
