(a) the acres of land given on lease for exploration of bauxite in Madhya Pradesh, particuarly in Satna district by the Government alongwith the names of persons and the period for which it was awarded;
(b) whether such lease has been provided for exploration in forest land also; and
(c) if so, the names of persons alongwith the time-limit for which lease has been given?

(a ) to (c) As per the information furnished by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh, two prospecting licences for exploration of bauxite have been granted in Satna district in the State of Madhya Pradesh. In addition, 69 mining leases for exploitation of bauxite mineral have been granted in Satna district by the State Government over an area of around 1930 acres. Names of the mining lease/prospecting licence holders to whom mining leases/prospecting licences have been granted along-with area in acres/hectares and period of grant is appended as Annexure. The details of mining operations in these 69 mining leases are as follows:
(a)Mining leases sanctioned in forest areas,mining operations in which have been discontinued in pursuance of the Order of the Supreme Court dated 12.12.96. 37Annexure
(b)Mining leases granted in the forest areas in which mining operations are continuing in the light of Court Stay/diversion of forest land. 05
(c)Mining leases sanctioned partly in forest 08 land and partly in revenue land in which mining operations are continuing in revenue land and discontinued in forest land.
