(a) to (c) : Sanction of the Central Government is not required for expansion of
thermal power projects. However, details of the expansion of thermal power projects
which are presently under construction in the State of Maharashtra in the
Central/State sector is furnished below:

(d) : The expansion projects indicated above are likely to yield benefits of
4,230 MW. Maharashtra will be benefited from these projects as well as from existing
and other under execution projects in the State. Maharashtra would become self
sufficient in power by procurement of power by the State, if required, besides its own
generation.
(e) to (f) : No financial assistance is being provided by the Central Government.
