Question : Online School Fee

(a) whether it has been made mandatory to deposit fees in CBSE schools of the
country online and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether it has been also enforced for other financial transaction of the schools
also;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether the Government is likely to consider to implement such system also in
private schools to promote cashless transaction and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced e-payment
facilities for collection of fee for examination, affiliation and various activities including
payments to its examination functionaries. The Board has advised all its affiliated
schools to promote cashless transactions in the schools vide their circular no.
CBSE/SECY/SPS/2016 dated 10 December, 2016. The schools have been advised to
introduce fee collection from students only online or through non-cash mode from
January, 2017 onwards. The schools have also been advised to disburse salary to staff
through bank transfers, make all payment for availing various services in the school,
procurement, wages to contractual workers, other transactions, etc., thorough noncash
mode.
