(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the fund for this project has been diverted to some other States;

(d) if so, the details thereof;

(e) if not, the time by which the actual execution of the work is likely to be started and finished;

(f) whether the Government has received any alternative proposal for diverting the East-West corridor from Nagaon to Silchar;

(g) if so, whether the Government is considering this new alignment; and

(h) if so, the details thereof ?

(a) : No, Sir.

(b) : Does not arise.

(d) : Does not arise.

(e) : Civil work contracts for 465 km length of East-West Corridor in Assam have already been awarded. Tenders for remaining length of East-West Corridor in Assam are also likely to be awarded by March 2006. The contractors have started mobilization and the entire project is targeted to be completed by year 2008.

(f) : No such proposal has been received from the Government of Assam.

(g) & (h) : Does not arise.
