Question : Central Administrative Tribunal

(a) whether the Government is aware of non-compliance of decisions of the Central Administrative Tribunal;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(c) the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) to (c): Normally, the decision of the CAT are complied with by the concerned Ministries/ Departments of the Government in consultation with Ministry of Law & Justice and the concerned Nodal Ministry. However, whenever it is decided to go for appeal in certain cases, the necessary action is taken by the concerned Ministries/ Departments in consultation with the Ministry of Law & Justice.
As on 21.11.2016, out of total of 6,92,665 decisions given by CAT, 33528 decisions have been challenged in High Courts.
