Question : OIL SELECTION BOARDS



(a): the criteria for the constitution of Oil Selection Boards and the details of such boards functioning at present; and

(b): the details of Oil Selection Boards proposed to be constituted during the year 2000?

(a): Oil Selection Boards have been set up from time to time by the Government with different compositions. The Oil Selection Boards now known as Dealer Selection Boards were last reconstituted in 1998-1999 with the following composition:

(i) Retired Judge of High Court or retired - Chairman District Judge.

(ii) An officer not below the rank of Chief Manager - Member of one/concerned oil company.

(iii) An officer of the rank of Chief Manager/ - Member Chief Manager of another Oil company.
The Government have recently dissolved all the Dealer Selection Boards.
(b): The Dealer Selection Boards are likely to be constituted in near future.
