Question : INVESTIGATION INTO TERRORIST ACTIVITIES



(a) whether the Government has ordered any investigation into the cases of bomb blasts at Malegaon, Hyderabad and Ajmer;

(b) if so, whether the investigation has been completed;

(c) if so, the person(s)/organisation(s) reported to have been involved in the said blasts;

(d) whether the Government is contemplating to bring out a white paper in this regard;

(e) if so, the time by which it is likely to be done; and

(f) the steps taken by the Government to punish the offenders in the said cases?

MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI AJAY MAKEN)

(a) to (c): As per available information, the Malegaon blast of 2008 has been investigated by the Anti Terrorism Squad, Maharashtra in which charge sheet has been filed and 11 persons have been arrested, while 3 persons are still wanted, in this case. The Ajmer Blast case is being investigated by Anti Terrorism Squad, Rajasthan and 3 persons have reportedly been arrested, in this case. The Meca Masjid Blast case of Hyderabad, is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation which has arrested 2 accused against production warrant.

(d) & (e): There is no such proposal.

(f): The punishment in criminal cases is awarded to the guilty by the competent Court.
