(a) whether the Government has implemented welfare measures for women, backward castes and disabled individuals under the central sector Textile schemes and if so, the details thereof; and
(b) the steps taken by the Government in the State of Andhra Pradesh to generate employment for women, SCs, STs, OBCs and disabled in the textile industry?

(a) & (b): Government is implementing various schemes for promotion and development of the textile sector, which cater to the welfare of women, SC/ST and disabled in the country including Andhra Pradesh. In order to promote employment in the textile sector, Government is implementing SAMARTH--Scheme for Capacity Building in Textile Sector with the objective to provide demand driven, placement oriented skilling programmes to supplement the efforts of the industry in creating jobs in textile and related sectors, covering the entire value chain of textiles, excluding Spinning and Weaving.
