Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF RAILWAYS AND COMMERCE & INDUSTRY

(SHRI PIYUSH GOYAL)

(a) to (d): Yes, Sir. A survey for laying of new railway line from Manjhi-Lar Road via Raghunathpur, Darauli and Guthani (92 Km) was completed in the year 2011-12. As per the survey report, cost of construction of the project was assessed as `742 crore with a negative Rate of Return of 0.99%.

In view of huge throwforward of ongoing new line projects and unremunerative nature of the project, this project could not be taken forward.
