(a) the amount of loan given to weaver community under the priority sector lending norms during the last three years;
(b) whether fresh loans are being given to weaver community under priority sector lending norms; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and if not the reasons therefor?

(a), (b) & (c): Reserve Bank of India has reported that it does not collate data on
the amount of loan given to Weaver Community.
However, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has reported that
it has directly disbursed Rs. 5.89 lakh to Weaver Community till 30-09-2009, under
Micro Enterprises Loan (MEL) Scheme. SIDBI has also extended grant assistance of
Rs.71.66 lakhs to 15 weaving clusters in the North Eastern Region in last 3 years.
Further, need based assistance is extended by SIDBI to Weaver Community on the basis
of validity of the project under MEL Scheme.
NABARD has informed having given refinance against finance provided by
Cooperative Banks to Apex & Primary Weaver Cooperative Societies for financing
working capita! requirements of weavers as follows:
