(a) the list of departments which will have access to the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR);
(b) whether private firms will have access to the CEIR and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) whether the Government has informed and obtained consent of the mobile phone owners to share their data with other departments, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) is a multi-stakeholder system where respective stakeholders including Department of Telecommunications, Telecom Service Providers, Police, Mobile phone manufacturers and mobile phone subscribers have a limited access as per defined roles and responsibilities. In this project, Mobile phone owners’ data is not shared with other departments.
