Question : Irregularities in Expansion- Modernisation of Telecom Services

(a) whether the Government has received complaints regarding irregularities in expansion and modernisation of telecom services and amenities in Tonk-Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has taken any action in this regard;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) whether the Government proposes to formulate any scheme to release funds in order to improve BSNL services in Rajasthan and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Madam, Public Grievance Wing of Department of Telecommunications has not received any complaints regarding irregularities in expansion and modernization of Telecom Services and amenities in Tonk-Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan in the Centralized Public Grievance Redress And Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) portal. Also no VIP reference complaints (complaints received from Hon’ble MPs and MLAs and other dignitaries) regarding the above subject has been received in the Department of Telecommunications.

(b) to (d) Not applicable in view of reply at (a).





(e) Yes Madam, in case of BSNL:

for mobile services

(i) In Phase VII, GSM expansion of BSNL, Swai Madhopur, Alwar, Ajmer district and Tonk, Dausa, Sriganganagar, Baran & Kota cities have been upgraded with new technology 2G & 3G equipments. In addition, new technology 3G BTS installed in rural areas of Tonk, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Sriganganagar & Hanumangarh districts.
(ii) In Phase VII, GSM expansion of BSNL – Jaipur & Jodhpur cities have been upgraded with new technology 2G & 3G equipments.

Further, in GSM (VIII.4) project of BSNL, Rajasthan circle has received 1062 2G BTS, 1770 3G BTS & 328 4G BTS which will be deployed to upgrade the GSM Network.

for CFA /Landline Services

(i) All the C-DOT Exchanges are being migrated to MAX-NGN (Next Generation Networks).
(ii) 60 New technology exchanges also being migrated to NGN.
(iii) Wi-Fi Hot spots are under installation in rural areas under USO project.
