(a) to (d): Public health and hospitals being a State subject, the primary responsibility to provide healthcare facilities to their people vests with the respective State/UT Governments. However, under National Health Mission (NHM), financial and technical support is provided to States/UTs to strengthen their healthcare systems including support for providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services, based on the requirements posed by them in their Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs) within their overall resource envelope.
As per information provided by UT of Ladakh and State Government of Himachal Pradesh, the details of healthcare facilities in sub-division of Nubra, Nyoma, Zanskar, Shargole and Drass and Lahaul Spiti distrct of Himachal Pradesh, are given at Annexure-I.
Further, the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) was launched in 2015 to develop the infrastructure including that of health in erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir. Under the PMDP, the following works are being undertaken in UT of Ladakh :
? Up-gradation of SNM Hospital Leh.
? PHC G. M. Pora, Kargil.
? Construction of 100 bedded DH at Khurbatan Kargil (Phase - I)
? Construction of advanced Mortuary in DH Kargil.
