(a): The Ministry of Rural Development, inter alia, is implementing major rural development programme, namely, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), Deen Dayal Upadhyay - Gramin Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) to bring about overall improvement in the quality of life of the people in rural areas through employment generation, skilling of youths, provision of social assistance and other basic amenities. No rural development project proposal from States/UTs, including Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, is lying pending with the Department of Rural Development.
(b) to (d): Does not arise in view of (a) above.
(e): Funds under various rural development programmes are released to the States/UTs in accordance with the programme guidelines based on their absorption capacity and utilization of available funds after examining the proposals received from them. MGNREGA is a demand driven programme and central funds are released to the States/UTs on the basis of agreed to labour budgets. The details of funds allocated and expenditure incurred under major rural development programme during the last three years and current year, scheme-wise and State/UT-wise are given at Annexure.
