Question : FLORICULTURE EXPORTS



(a) whether floriculture exports from the country have gone up during the last two years and thereafter;

(b) if so, the details thereof in terms of quantity and alongwith foreign exchange, country-wise;

(c) whether the Government proposes to provide any incentives, tax benefits to further encourage exports; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Yes, Sir. Floriculture exports had gone up during 2002-03 and 2003-04. However export of these products had declined during 2004-05. Details are given below:

(c) & (d) Agricultural and Processed Foods Export Development Authority (APEDA) is extending financial assistance to exporters, under various plan schemes, for market development, infrastructure development, quality development, research and transport assistance. Benefits are also available under Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana on export of flowers.
