THE MINISTER OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE
(SHRI JAGAT PRAKASH NADDA)

(a) to (c) The Dental Council of India (DCI) was constituted under the Dentists Act, 1948 to provide and maintain standards of dental education in the country and regulate the profession of dentistry. Certain complaints /representations were received in the Ministry regarding illegal membership in DCI. The Central Government, with a view to maintain record of membership in DCI and to avoid any arbitrary decision of DCI with regard to acceptance of membership of individuals, issued an order dated 19.5.2015 and subsequent clarification dated 09.6.2015 that the Central Government shall notify all members of DCI elected /nominated on or after 19.5.2015.
