Question : VALMIKI AMBEDKAR AWAS YOJANA



(a) whether the Government proposes to double the amount under Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the said scheme has been started by all the States;

(d) if so, the name of the States which have sent project reports for urban reconstruction;

(e) whether the Government is considering an Integrated Housing and Slum Development Scheme in place of the above scheme; and

(f) if so, the reasons therefor?

(a)to(f): Government has decided to subsume the Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana (VAMBAY) and National Slum Development Programme (NSDP) in a new scheme called Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP). Under the IHSDP, the ceiling cost of dwelling unit is Rs.80,000/-. IHSDP scheme has been approved by the Government only recently and projects under the same as per the scheme guidelines have not been received from the States.
