(a): Government of India approved implementation of Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme from 2017-18 to 2019-20 to empower rural women through community participation. The Scheme is implemented through the State Government/UT Administration with a cost sharing ratio of 60:40 between Centre and State except for North East & Special Category States where the funding ratio is 90:10. For Union Territories 100% central funding is provided.
(b): Requisite approval for implementation of Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme is pending from Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala and UT of Lakshadweep. Accordingly, the State Governments have been requested at regular intervals for expediting the matter through Video Conferencing and letters. The latest Video Conferencing was held during 11th -12th December 2018 and Chief Secretary of the respective States were requested vide letter dated 26th November 2018.
(c): No Madam. Funds were released/authorised for implementing Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme as per approved scheme guidelines during FY 2017-18 & 2018-19. Details of funds released State/UT-wise including Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Punjab is Annexed.
(d): No such proposal is envisaged.
