Question : National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) Whether the Government is planning to introduce National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill;

(b) If so, the details thereof including salient features and the reasons thereto;

(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard;

(d) whether the proposed bill has any impact on State Nursing Councils; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a)to(e): A seven-member Expert Committee was constituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in July, 2020 to examine the draft National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill. The draft Bill was placed in public domain in November, 2020 for seeking comments of various stakeholders and general public.
