(a) whether the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has proposed a roadmap for auctioning radio waves to existing and new telecom operators for the future;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether DoT has sought permission from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to set a base price for auction of CDMA spectrum;
(d) if so, the reaction of TRAI thereto; and
(e) the time by which auction process is likely to be started?

(a) & (b) The auction of spectrum in 800 Megahertz (MHz), 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands is planned during current Financial Year, i.e. 2014-15.
(c) to (e) The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) sought Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Recommendations on Reserve Price for 800 MHz band in all the service areas. TRAI has released its Recommendations dated 22nd February, 2014 on Reserve Price for Auction of Spectrum in the 800 MHz Band. The auction of spectrum in this band is planned during current Financial Year, i.e. 2014-15.
