Question : Ayurvedic Hospitals

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether there is any shortage of AYUSH hospitals in the country, if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise;

(b) whether the Government proposes to open new hospitals in various States including UT of Dadar and Nagar Haveli, if so, the details thereof indicating the number and details of Allopathic, Ayurvedic and Unani hospitals set up during the last three years in the said Union Territory and if not, the reasons therefor; and


(c) whether any proposal is presently underway to open such hospitals in the said Union Territory, if so, the details thereof?

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYURVEDA,

(a) & (b): Public Health being a State subject, opening of AYUSH Hospital comes under purview of respective State/UT Governments. However, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), there is provision of financial assistance for setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals in the States/UTs including Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The details of setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals approved by Central Government in the States/UTs including Dadra and Nagar Haveli are furnished at Annexure.
(c): No fresh proposal is presently underway for setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals in the said Union Territory.
