(a) the details of urban sanitation scheme(s) being undertaken in the country
including West Bengal and North-Eastern States;
(b) the details of funds provided to various States under the said schemes during
the last three years and current year, State-wise; and
(c) the details of per unit cost prescribed under the said scheme(s) along with the
Central share made available to the States in this regard?

(a) to (c): There is no comprehensive and dedicated Urban Sanitation Programme
implemented by Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation as ‘Sanitation’
is a Subject under State List of the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India.
Issues relating to Sewerage, Drainage and Sanitation in the urban areas are being
monitored by Ministry of Urban Development in Government of India. However, for
eradication of dry latrines and thereby to liberate manual scavengers, Ministry
of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation is implementing the revised Integrated
Low Cost Sanitation Scheme in the urban areas of the country.
The unit cost for conversion/construction of twin pit pour flush latrines with
superstructure in the revised ILCS for Eleventh Five Year Plan and extended ILCS for
Twelfth Five Year Plan is summarized in the table below:
