(b) the funds proposed to be spent in various States particularly Punjab during the current financial year?

(a) The Sports Authority of India (SAI) implements the following Sports Promotional Schemes at Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior level.

	1.	a) National Sports Talent Contest (NSTC)	b) Indigenous Games and Martial Arts (IGMA)	c) Akhara	2.	Army Boys Sports Company (ABSC)	3.	SAI Training Centre (STC)	4.	Special Area Games (SAG)	a) Ext. Centres of STC/SAG for wider Coverage	5.	Centre Of Excellence (COE) 

SAI has eleven Institutional/Regional Centres which are responsible for implementing and monitoring SAI Sports Promotional Schemes.

(b) SAIs Sports Promotional activities and the funds for conducting these activities is allocated Region-wise, and not State-wise. During the current Financial Year, the budget approved for the various regions of SAI are as follows :-

Funds for sports promotional schemes being implemented by SAI are released to different regions as stated above. So far as funds for Punjab state is concerned, the same has been released to SAI NSNIS Patiala which runs Academic programmes, Centre of Excellence & SAI Training Centres and Chandigarh (Chandigarh region comprises Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, J & K and Union Territory)
