MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
(DR. SATYA PAL SINGH)

(a) to (c): No, Madam. However, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has requested
the Vice-Chancellors of all the Universities to explore implementation of the National Cadet
Corps (NCC) as an elective subject in their respective University curriculum. The objective
of implementation of NCC as an elective subject in Universities is to focus on citizenship,
patriotism and social and moral obligations of a person. It is also expected to enhance life
and leadership skills of the cadets. Further, UGC provides financial support to
Autonomous Colleges for introducing NCC as an elective subject with credit points.
