MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE PRIME MINISTER`S OFFICE.(SHRI V. NARAYANASAMY)

(a) to (c) : The National Commission for Religious & Linguistic Minorities has, inter alia, recommended that 15% of posts in all cadres and grades under the Central and State Governments should be earmarked for minorities, of which 10% should be for Muslims. The Commission has further stated that if it is not possible to give reservation as proposed above, 8.4% sub-quota may be earmarked for minorities (6% for Muslims and 2.4% for other minorities) within 27% OBC quota. The recommendation is under consideration of the Central Government. It is, however, not possible to fix a time frame for taking decision.
